Home Care
Package Levels

Each person is unique and will not need the same services as another. The government has established four Home Care Package levels. Only an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessment can determine which level you are allocated and only another ACAT assessment can allow you to move up or down between the levels. This can be confusing, but we are here to help you with the process. Remember that you can access the same types of service on all 4 levels, its just that the subsidy is lowest on level 1 and highest on level 4. The services available range from companionship and social outings through assistance with basic tasks such as personal care, household cleaning, gardening, and transport, to more advanced services like podiatry, nursing, and allied health care. If you are on level 1, your budget may cover many hours per month of basic services like companionship and help around the home, but it will cover fewer hours of more advanced (and expensive) services such as nursing care and physiotherapy. Remember also that you are in charge of your budget so you can decide if you need 50 hours of lawn mowing or 10 hours of nursing care. If you want services above and beyond what the Government subsidy is able to cover, you will need to pay extra for those services. This will only ever happen after discussion and with your consent.

Our friendly helpful experts will work with you to set up for Home Care Plan and we will review it regularly to ensure that it continues to meet your needs within the subsidies available.

LEVEL 1

Level 1 packages are the entry-level and are designed to provide you a little extra support to help you stay in your home with Dignity, Confidence and Independence. You can choose from any of the services we offer, and we will tailor your Care Plan to fit within the budget allocated. This might mean more frequent access to some of the basic services and less frequent access to the more specialised and expensive services, but the choice is yours. A level 1 package might involve one or two visits a week from a caregiver.

LEVEL 2

Level 2 packages are designed for people with relatively low requirements for assistance services, but you can still choose whichever services you feel would best assist you. You are in charge. Typically, a level 2 package would fund two or three visits per week from our caregivers and would include more of our basic services or more often, with the more specialised services less often.

LEVEL 3

LEVEL 3

Level 3 Home Care Packages are designed to support people with intermediate care requirements. The higher budget allows you to choose from a greater range of services, or you might need just the basic services but more often. It is up to you. Typically, a level 3 Package involves visits from our caregivers perhaps 4 or 5 times per week.

LEVEL 4

$59,430.28 PER YEAR

LEVEL 4

This is the highest level of Home Care Package available and has the highest budget. These packages are designed to support people with high care needs and will most likely include more of the higher-end services such as nursing and allied health care, but the choice is still yours. A level 4 package would typically fund daily visits from a caregiver or nurse.
